A native of southern Idaho, Bruce Skaug's ancestors homesteaded near Lizard Butte in Canyon County.
Bruce graduated from the University of Idaho College of Law in 1988 and served for three years as a trial attorney for the Ada County Prosecutor's Office in Boise.
In 1992, he began civil practice with the Goicochea Law Office, Nampa (now Skaug Law, PC) with an emphasis on personal injury, wrongful death and workers' compensation litigation.
Bruce has recovered millions of dollars for his clients in verdicts and settlements.
He is a member of the Idaho Trial Lawyers Association and the American Association for Justice.
Bruce Skaug was elected to the Nampa City Council in 2013 and currently is serving the city in addition to his law practice.
Bruce has served on the board of directors for several non-profit charitable organizations, including the Salvation Army, Hands of Hope, Nampa Lions Club, The Joseph Project, The Canyon County Historical Society, College Church of the Nazarene, The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary Foundation Board, Nampa Babe Ruth, Lifeline Crisis Pregnancy Center, and Nampa Public Library. He is a member of the Nampa Christian Schools Foundation Board.
Bruce and Debbie Skaug have been married for over 25 years. They have six children.
